Walmart Gets its own “Amazon Vine”

If you spend a lot of time reading Amazon reviews, chances are good that you’ve come across someone’s username being followed by a little bit of text that reads “Vine Voice.” This means that the user in question is providing a review of a product they got for FREE, basically in exchange for an unbiased review.

Honestly, there’s not much more to explain, but I’ll go for it.

With this program being announced, now branded merchants who sell on Walmart’s marketplace can put apply to have their products be included in Field Agent. The thought behind these programs is that everyone looks for reviews before buying, so how do you gin up reviews for a brand new product and get it selling? It’s probably also good to be a shopper who already writes reviews. But also, it looks like you’ll need the Field Agent app:

If you want to scrub for details, you can do so here, but it’s this site, that leaks the possible name of Walmart Try and Share, which spills a bit more of the beans:

So it looks like you might get a little bit of a back scratch here? Time will tell, this is new news. Don’t hate us when it’s old and out of date.
