The Review Bomb that Sold T-Shirts: Flamingos Coffee Bar

Look, if you are a business owner, you’ve got to be at least a little insane. You’ve got to have a head full of gumption, steam, confidence, whatever you wanna call it. And you’ve got to have pride, in yourself and in your product.

It’s why we love owner responses to reviews. When someone drags your good name (and your business) through the street, it only makes sense to swing back. In a public forum…

Okay, so it’s not always advisable, but if you’re going to notice the trolls and even think about feeding them, you’d best follow the example set by Flamingos Coffee Bar of New Hampshire.

They got a Yelp review that read:

And as they say in their own IG post, when life hands you lemons, make Womenade.

The coffee shop did just that, printing the criticism on t-shirts and selling them online and in-store, with 20% of profits going to Womenade, a woman-led organization that aids community members in crisis.

And as for the anonymous reviewer’s other critique- does he think a place called Mary Lou’s with a pink interior isn’t pro-women? Or is it just not disgustingly so?
